Sacrifice

Some men are given a gift by god to have lived a life that includes the love of a good woman and having been given an opportunity to prove no greater love than to lay down their lives for their fellow man of their own free will. The ones left behind bear the brunt of this sacrifice on this earth yet should also take pride in the fact that their men died men in pursuit of something that is intangible. Something that cannot be measured in a timeframe of this world but will be illuminated past time, in the next life. That their shining example of sacrifice of all they were gives courage to those who struggle to make sense of a world. To see that men can still shoulder the burden of leadership with courage and still walk into the mouth of the beast of war even though they know they may not come back should be looked at as the highest honor.

To those who gave all they had.

I salute you,
